My review starts with a quick summary of the Pros and Cons of using Bodybuilding.com as a sport supplements store and as a source for all kinds of bodybuilding and fitness information. Underneath, I will provide additional information, which may help you decide if this is a store that you want to use or not.

Pros

  • Bodybuilding.com has been around since 1999. It’s a reputable online merchant.

Cons

  • Bodybuilding.com is not the best source of cheap supplements online. You can find many supplements cheaper elsewhere
  • It is difficult to navigate. Too much going on on the website

My experience

I’ve shopped from Bodybuilding.com multiple times in the past. They used to have a flat $5.99 (I think it was) shipping rates and they’ve always had the free gifts with the purchase of product over certain amount (it’s $75 right now).

The shipping and transit times have always been fast. The prices weren’t always the cheapest. But my overall experience was always very positive.

I haven’t purchased from BB.com recently, and the reasons are two: 1) they don’t have a huge variety of wellness/whole foods products (as opposed to hardcore muscle growth supplements), and 2) (and this is the most important reason) the prices aren’t always the cheapest. Granted, I don’t shop much for specialized muscle building supplements any more. At this stage of my evolution as an athlete, I only use a whole foods-based multivitamin and whey protein powder (both for shakes and for baking). A bit Vitamin C and D3 once in a while, but that’s basically it.

Conclusion

Bodybuilding.com, while not the cheapest bodybuilding supplements store, still remains the top source of everything fitness and bodybuilding. It’s a reputable (and very large) online retailer, and I think it’s here to stay.
