Naturally Boost Your Testosterone Levels
Cliff's Column
Hey everybody! Hope all is going well. I am writing today to talk to you about how to naturally boost your testosterone levels. When most people think of testosterone they think of steroids, addiction, and side effects.
This can be a common misconception due to the fact that testosterone is a natural hormone produced in the body. Also, testosterone levels in most men decrease as time goes on. Low testosterone levels make it very difficult to burn fat and increase lean muscle mass. I am pretty sure that that is what everyone reading this wants to do.
So here it is. I am going to explain DHEA and Tribulus Terrestris.
DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is a natural steroid prohormone produced by the adrenal glands. It is the most plentiful hormone in the body. DHEA is the precursor of testosterone and androstenedione.
DHEA also helps with sexual function. Levels of DHEA in the body are highest in morning. DHEA also helps decrease insulin resistance, improve metabolism, increase lean muscle mass, increase immune system function, and also has anti-aging properties.
DHEA can be purchased by itself at GNC in 25mg doses. GNC also has time released 25mg DHEA, this is the one I would recommend. The amount that you take is going to be based on your individual needs and testosterone levels.
There is one other supplement that contains DHEA and that is Halodrol Liquigels by Gaspari Nutrition. They work really well, but are a little pricy. It is very important to cycle DHEA. After four to six weeks of use, get off for a little while. DHEA can also produce estrogen in the body if taken for too long.
Tribulus Terrestris is a plant or weed found in tropical climate areas throughout the world. Tribulus has numerous practical uses. It was found in the 70s that tribulus terrestris could be used to boost testosterone levels in the human body. The really good thing about tribulus is that it keeps testosterone levels in a normal range. Because of this, there are no known negative side effects of using tribulus terrestris.
Tribulus works by increasing the luteinizing hormone (LH) levels in the body. LH is responsible for signaling the body to produce more testosterone. Tribulus also has positive effects in increasing sexual performance and libido.
For those who are looking for just a little added boost, I would go with tribulus terrestris. For those actually suffering with low testosterone levels, I would go with DHEA. Either way, you will see positive results.
Hope this helps.
