Last weekend I had a problem with my computer -
my Windows failed and didn't even let me back
up my latest documents. Needless to say that I
lost all of my recent work. It took me a week
to bring my system to somewhat normal state so
I can continue my work. I almost missed this
issue of the newsletter because of all that.
This is also the reason why I haven't done
a whole lot in my web site lately...
OK. Enough grumble. Let's get started...

1) Another Natural Fat Loss Supplement
===============================================

In the last newsletter I told you about the importance of
calcium for fat loss. In this issue you will read about
another well-known supplement that can help you
increase the rate at which you expend energy.

I am talking about GREEN TEA and more precisely
about the polyphenols it contains.

I'm quite sure you've heard of the health
enhancing properties of green tea before, but
do you know what exactly it does for you?

Well, first, green tea contains several important
antioxidants, which help you fight free radicals.
Free radicals accelerate aging and ailments
development. Even that is good enough, don't
you think? But read further...

One of these antioxidants is predominant. It is
called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Many of
the green tea supplements and teas are
standardized for EGCG as this proves the
antioxidant potency of the product.

Not only do EGCG and the other polyphenols
(catechins) in green tea have strong antioxidant
properties but also help in mobilizing the fat
for energy.

Along with the catechins green tea contains the
alkaloid caffeine. It is believed that the
combination of these two groups of phytochemicals
is what increases the energy expenditure.

They do that by shutting down an enzyme in the
body that suppresses the production and potency
of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine. So,
by downregulating this enzyme the levels of
norepinephrine elevate, which leads to
increase in fat oxidation and thermogenesis
(using fat for energy).

To achieve this effect you will have to take
250 - 500 mg of standardized green tea extract.
You can do that by brewing green tea of by
taking a green tea extract supplement, although
it's proven that taking a supplement allows for
higher blood concentrations of polyphenols.

You should know that there are about 250 - 300 mg
of polyphenols in THREE cups of green tea.

There are also supplements, standardized for
98% polyphenols in capsule form of 250 - 500 mg
per capsule.

Now, with all the variety of green teas for
brewing and in supplement form on the market
these days I can relate if you feel a bit lost
when trying to find the best of either type.

I've done the research for you. Follow the

brewing I personally use:
